On Tuesday, February 2, the Frisch junior varsity hockey team finished the season 13-0, making them the first undefeated JV hockey team in Frisch history. Going into the season, Frisch was not one of the highly-ranked teams in the league, so their undefeated season was surprising to many. Captain Benjy Feintuch and goalie Charlie Freilich were ready to take on the doubters, and the first step was the first game of the season against Ramaz.
They started off the season strong against Ramaz, winning the game easily 5-1. The second game of the season came against the highly-favored TABC team, their biggest rival. After being down 2-1 going into the 3rd, Frisch came out with the victory. With that win, the team realized its potential.
Frisch won the next 11 games, including their match against the reigning champions, the SAR Sting. The run was highlighted by strong play of goalie Charlie Freilich, who had 11 straight periods of shootout play. Although Frisch finished undefeated, they are the 2 seed going into the playoffs. Frisch looks to continue its hot streak in the first round against TABC.
