(Frisch Sports) On the evening of May 11, the Frisch track team hosted the second meet for the spring season at the outdoor track by Leonia Overpeck Park. In addition to the Frisch students, other schools in attendance included Ramaz, Kushner and Ma’ayanot. Over 40 students participated in various track and field events.
Frisch track coach Jeff Ruttner said, “We were blessed with good weather and blessed to be able to participate and compete. I am glad that the runners were able to experience both individual and team events.” Ma’ayanot Coach Judith Sambol stated, “I’m excited for the kids to get a chance to compete during what’s been a very difficult year. So many high school and college athletes missed out on having this opportunity because of the pandemic. A huge kudos to the athletes, athletic directors, coaches and coordinators of the league for figuring out how to make it happen.”
The Frisch girls’ team placed first in all events they participated in including the 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter dashes. The boys performed strongly as well placing first in both the 400 and 800 meter dash and coming in second place in the 200 meter dash and the one mile run. The runners all worked hard and had a great time running. They look forward to continuing a great season!
