Frisch Turns Pink to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Frisch students (and some enterprising alumni in the Old City of Yerushalayim) turned out in droves wearing their finest pink apparel for Sharsheret’s Pink Day, which raises awareness about Sharsheret’s vital services, resources and programming for women and men in the Jewish community facing breast cancer.

Students sold special shirts and sweatpants featuring the Frisch Pink Day motif, as well as pink kippahs stamped with the trademark Cougar paw print. The students enjoyed a candy giveaway and their famous school staircase was shot with all Cougars in pink. While the day was fun and spirited, the participants also remembered the reason for this drive for awareness: those individuals and their families who are fighting cancer with all they have. Thankfully, Sharsheret is there to provide them with the care, emotional support and practical services they need on their journeys.

On Pink Day Frisch also remembered Rochelle Shoretz, a”h, the organization’s founder, who passed away this past summer at age 42. Her legacy lives on in the amazing work Sharsheret does for so many.
