Frisch Varsity Hockey Gets Bye

It has been a season of new beginnings for this hockey team. The Cougars first loss this season was to SAR, and none of the players have beaten SAR while wearing the Frisch jersey. It looked like another loss was heading their way. Frisch went down two nothing at the beginning of the second period and things were going downhill. Then Jono Wietschener scored on a turnaround shot; after that there was no stopping Frisch. A couple shifts later, Jacob Bach buried his first of the season to tie the game at two. On the next shift, Odi Haramati blasted one top shelf to take the lead. Frisch dominated the rest of the game after that. SAR couldn’t stop Frisch’s power play or get by Frisch’s penalty kill. Mike Rubin and Haramati added power play goals. Frisch ended up winning 5-3 and extended their winning streak to six games, which makes them 10-2 on the season. Since the TABC game, Frisch shut out JEC 6-0, and beat Ramaz 4-1. The cougars will host Kushner and TABC to finish off what has been a magnificent season. They will head into the playoffs with a first round bye.
