The Frisch Boys Volleyball team reached the semifinals for a second year in a row, defeating top level teams such as SAR and DRS. Their two defeats came from ranked programs, North Shore (1), and Ramaz (2) in four hard sets. This year, Frisch finished their regular season ranked number three (6-2). Coach Munoz and his staff have worked very hard to get the program to where it is today.
In an interview with the JLNJ, Coach Munoz is very humble when discussing his team, and he credits the “little things” for the success of the Frisch Boys Volleyball team. Coach Munoz told the Jewish Link, “one of the many reasons for the success of Frisch Boys Volleyball program [is] the dedication of the team.” The boys have volunteered for extra practice, asked lots of questions and were very receptive to learning a new system. The coach would similarly thanks Frisch Athletic Director Mr. AC Coren for being a key ingredient in the success of the program. From helping out with tournaments, to donating team kippot, Coach Munoz knows he can always count on Mr. Coren.
Coach Munoz told the Link that he is always learning, and highly respects the Yehiva League. He is grateful to have mentors such as the Frisch girls’ coaches Sam Tilp and Sameul Samson; they are always willing to help with the program, since day one. “The Frisch environment is supportive, which makes my job easier.” The team is getting ready for playoffs with an excitement to have fun and play volleyball in a competitive way.
