On May 25, the Frisch boys’ volleyball team won its first-ever yeshiva league championship by defeating SAR by the score of three games to one. Led by its five seniors—Rafi Baruch, Elie Kern, Shimon Ohana, Jordan Gartenberg and Sammy Fishman—as well as coach Omar Munoz, the tense match was played in Ma’ayanot High School in front of a packed and vocal crowd.
After Frisch won the first two sets by the scores of 21-17 and 21-19, SAR tried to mount a comeback, winning the third set 21-18. In the end, however, Frisch’s serves, sets and kills were too strong, allowing the team to pull away and win the final set 21-12, setting off a joyous celebration for a well-deserved victory.
