Dr. Stein and Mrs. Geller worked with a select group of students in the Smedra Family 21st Century Lab, demonstrating how they enter data to identify the records of the ID Sheets (Protokolls) of the Krakow Ghetto from the summer of 1940.
These students will be working on this project throughout the year to help further the information available for family members and researchers on the Ancestry.com Holocaust database. Frisch became involved in the World Memory Project last year, entering thousands of Worker ID Cards from the Lodz Ghetto. Frisch was asked to now work on entering information from the Krakow Ghetto. Since the information is not typed, students need to read names, addresses, hometowns and professions in the cursive writing used in Europe in the 1930’s.
