Children at Gan Aliya busily prepared for Chanukah, engaging in meaningful and exciting learning experiences. Through both Torah and General Studies lenses, they explored the intricacies of Chanukah halachos, such as where to place the menorah and how long the candles must burn. In general studies, they learned the science behind oil, and why liquids like water, vinegar, and soda don’t mix with oil, as well as the role of oxygen in keeping a candle lit.
The kinderlach also embraced the spirit of the Maccabees, discussing the importance of Yiddishkeit and standing strong in defense of Judaism. Additionally, they participated in a toy drive for Chai Lifeline, learning the importance of chesed, the value of thinking about others and the joy of bringing happiness to those in need.
