Tsipy Weiss, the founder and director of Gan Henel Early Learning Center, is excited to announce the opening of a second location of Gan Henel in Teaneck. Weiss relates that the space itself is an excellent asset to the program. Other perks are the proximity to parks and, with the advent of warmer weather, the nearby access to an outdoor swimming pool. Weiss also noted that Teaneck has an abundance of community opportunities for the children.

Weiss holds a master’s degree in early childhood education and a diploma in Judaic studies, and has taught in various early learning centers around the country. She also served as educational director at Chabad Early Learning Center of Riverdale prior to opening the Early Learning Center in Kehilat Kesher in Englewood, New Jersey, in the fall of 2017.

Named in memory of her late mother, Henel Cohen, Gan Henel is loosely modeled after the Reggio Emilia philosophy that, “every child is full of intelligence, curiosity and wonder. As such, we understand that learning goes beyond ‘speech,’ ” embracing other expression including drawing, music and dramatic play.

Weiss’ passion in educating young children runs deep. So Gan Henel also incorporates Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences promoting the engagement of all five senses as part of the learning experience. In reaching each child, Gan Henel also fosters the cultivation of growth by setting a strong foundation of learning, play and socialization.
