Gan Yavneh prepared for Chanukah this week by making pom pom dreidels, painting menorahs and adding nuts and washers and marching around like Macabees! They conducted a science experiment to explore oil and water and saw that no matter how hard we tried to mix them together, they always separated. Students also loved getting their fingers dirty with paint. They painted tubes to resemble candles. This art activity was great for the students to use a paintbrush. We practiced long and wide brush strokes which are important early skills that build muscles for handwriting.
