I’m bothered when people confuse political opinion with fact. In “American Olim Reflect on the Biden Victory” in the Nov 19 issue, JJ Sussman is quoted as saying, “One thing is clear … the mainstream media and the pollsters lost once again. 90% of the polls had Biden winning by 5% and that didn’t happen.” In fact, Biden won by more than 6,000,000 votes for a vote percentage of just under 4%. Biden will win the electoral college by just under 14%. So, if Mr. Sussman’s statement about the “90% of polls” is accurate, it doesn’t take a deep understanding of polling and polling error to see that the mainstream media got it right. As Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, said, “Numbers don’t lie.”
