Give the Gift of Israeli Art This Chanukah

Since March 2020, many people have had their vacations cancelled. My family had planned a trip to Israel for our son to have his Hanachat Tefillin at the Kotel. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our travel plans. We look forward to having the opportunity to go to Israel once things get back to “normal.”

I miss the breathtaking energy and spirit of Israel. The people, the history, the beauty and feeling of belonging is very powerful. I miss the beautiful landscapes that change constantly depending on which direction you travel. However, whenever I see the art from Israel that I have hanging in my home, I get a small hint of the Avira Haaretz, “the atmosphere and aura of Israel.” In this way, I keep my connection with Israel visible every day.

Even when traveling to Israel and spending time in Israeli art galleries, many find it difficult to imagine what the piece would look like in their homes. As a result, some travelers end up not purchasing anything and regret the decision later. Alternatively, you can purchase a piece and then come home to find it doesn’t “work” in your house.

As an art consultant, I work with clients to help them find artwork that they feel an attachment to. Many clients come to me looking for a piece to decorate their living or dining room and leave feeling a true connection to the Israeli artwork they purchase. By having a nice selection of artwork by Israeli artists, I can assist prospective buyers in selecting several paintings and give them the opportunity to see how each piece of art will look hanging on their walls before making a decision.

As a result of the severe travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, many Israeli artists are truly struggling. Art is the perfect Chanukah gift that the whole family can enjoy for many years to come. This is a wonderful way to support Israel’s art community and add something beautiful and meaningful into your home.
