(Courtesy of Gift of Life) Gift of Life Marrow Registry is a non-profit, blood stem cell and marrow donor registry headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, and the only registry to be founded and run by a transplant recipient and leukemia survivor, CEO Jay Feinberg, whose four-year worldwide search for a matching donor was widely publicized in the early ‘90s.
Today, the registry has more than 475,000 active donors and has completed 5,169 life-saving transplants for patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell, inherited immune disorders and more than 75 other life-threatening diseases. The registry has its own in-house stem cell collection center within its headquarters.
The registry’s heartwarming story is now the subject of the forthcoming documentary film “One in a Million,” from director Jerry Levine, to premiere this fall.
