Three of the biggest newsmakers these days exposed by the outbreak of the Gaza war are global antisemitism, toxic campus atmospheres, and the extensive Hamas tunnel networks.
To put these into”context,” all three have very similar characteristics. First, they have been there for a long time, known but mostly ignored. Secondly, they have now been exposed as being extensive and more dangerous than imagined. Third, it will be a long, difficult job to uproot and destroy them completely, if it can be done at all. And fourth, if they are not completely destroyed, they will just keep coming back to continue plaguing the Jewish people in a never-ending cycle of violence.
The road ahead will be very long and difficult, and the time is short, so we as Jews must do all we can to help in any way possible. Everyone can contribute in some way, one way or another, but they must do it. Sitting on the sidelines and just complaining is not an option. Action is required right now.
