Golda Och Academy Begins ‘Names, Not Numbers©’

Golda Och Academy welcomed Tova Fish-Rosenberg, founder of “Names, Not Numbers©”, to our upper school campus to speak with 10th grade students about the Holocaust documentary film project, “Names, Not Numbers©.” Over the course of the year, students will have additional Holocaust studies and learn interviewing, filmmaking and editing skills from professionals to preserve the stories of survivors through the creation of a documentary film.

Thank you to the parent of alumni Allan Chernoff, CEO of Chernoff Communications, for leading an informative class on interviewing techniques for students today. Chernoff was CNN’s senior correspondent for 11 years, served as an interviewer for the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Project and co-wrote “The Tailors of Tomaszow” with his mother Rena Margulies Chernoff, one of the youngest survivors of the Holocaust.

The 10th grade students will keep the stories of the Holocaust alive through the this curriculum and the “Names, Not Numbers©” program.
