Cantor Sharon joined the fifth grade during Chumash class to teach students about how a Torah scroll is made. Some of the trivia they learned was how a sofer (person who writes a Torah) knows how many lines to write per column, and the secret recipe for the ink used on a klaf (special parchment used for holy articles). Each student then assembled their own yad (Torah pointer) they designed online. With fifth grade Torah readings beginning next month, kitah hey students are so excited to use their own yad for this special milestone!
