The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 14-year-old Elliot Eisner as sportstar of the week. The Yeshivat Noam eighth grader was captain of the Noam Knights hockey team and MVP of the Esther Semmelman All-Star League and of the Martin Weiselberg Tournament. Azriel Rauzman, Noam hockey coach told the JLNJ, “What makes Elliot so special is not just his raw talent but the respect he has for his friends on the team. He is a tremendous athlete who always exhibits exemplary sportsmanship.”
Elliot congratulations on a terrific season. I know you have many great influences in your life, if you had to zero in on one, who would you say is your role model?
My father is my role model, because he is a great athlete and has great middot and he is an amazing father.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
William Nylander, because even though he isn’t a star, he doesn’t care and keeps on playing his hardest. And he is on my favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
What is your pregame routine?
Me, my friend Jake and my friend Charles get in the zone; we listen to pump-up music and get ready for our upcoming game.
What is your earliest sport memory?
Scoring a full court shot in my TABC Junior Hockey fourth grade championship.
What is your funniest sports memory?
Scoring an off-the-wall shot to win my semifinal game in TABC Junior Hockey.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Scoring a shorthanded goal in my championship game in seventh grade.
What can we find you doing when not playing sports?
Hanging out with my friends, watching sports and playing Xbox.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
Getting to go to Gotham Burger with my family and have fun.
