The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 13-year-old Eytan Suss as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. On Sunday, March 13 the Yeshivat Noam seventh grader stunned a packed Frisch gym with his Reggie Miller-like performance in the final round of the YMSSA 3-point competition. One spectator told the JLNJ, “It was an amazing sight, Suss was literally raining threes. Each shot cleared the rim almost like a laser guided missile, en-route to his 16 “3’s” in one minute and title as YMSSA seventh grade 3-point champion.”
Eytan, congrats on being the new three point champ, that was quite the clinic you put on during the 3-point tournament. I know there are many terrific people in your life, but if you had to pick one who would you say is your role model?
My dad, he teaches me how to work hard and to try my best to be a good person. My earliest sports memory is playing ball with him.
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
Stephen Curry. He makes the game look fun, he’s a hard worker and he’s humble.
What is your pregame routine?
I listen to pump-up music and watch Steph Curry highlights.
What is your funniest sports memory?
One time my grandfather let me drive a golf cart during a round of golf and within 10 seconds of driving I crashed ?.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Making 16 “3’s” in this year’s YMSSA seventh grade 3-point shootout.
What do you like to do when not playing sports?
I like to hang out with my family.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
I don’t really feel like a Sportstar but really appreciate being chosen.
