The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Frisch Junior Yehuda Brinn as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The 16-year-old Brinn, had a standout season for the Cougars, one highlight of the season was his hat trick in the quarterfinals game. Brinn’s amazing season didn’t end when the playoffs did, he was at it again last month at the Semmelman All Star game. At the game Brinn three-peated as the hardest shot champion with a 99 mph shot.
Yehuda congrats on a great season and continuing your reign as the MYHSAL’s hardest shooter. JLNJ would like to ask you about yourself and your hockey career:
Who is your role model?
Rabbi Morris is my role model because he always teaches me to do the right things and he’s probably our hockey team’s biggest fan.
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
Alexander Ovechkin, he’s just the best player in the game. I learnt everything I know from watching him play.
What is your pre game meal?
Noodles, banana. Noodles gives me that boost of energy to play. And the bananas help me with my cramps.
What is your earliest sports memory?
My championship hockey game in seventh grade. It went into double overtime and we lost. Even though we lost, it was the best hockey game I ever played.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Scoring 3 goals in quarterfinals against Rambam. Having lost to them last year in the semis, coming back to their house and scoring a hat trick and that feeling of winning the overtime goal was unreal.
