(Courtesy of Office of Congressman Josh Gottheimer) U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) joined Temple Anshe Chesed in Linden to discuss the importance of the Jewish community amid increasing antisemitism across the country and in New Jersey. Gottheimer also provided updates on the Israel-Hamas hostage deal and spoke on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

“With so much hate and antisemitism across our state, it’s even more important now than ever before that we remain united as one community to support each other — in the same spirit this congregation has in Linden for more than 105 years,” said Gottheimer, the only Jewish member of the New Jersey Congressional delegation.“Partisan politics can’t distract us from our shared values — defeating the terrorists, standing up for democracy, and protecting the innocent. While this hostage deal is an important step forward, this war is not over until all the hostages, especially all of the Americans — including my constituent, Edan Alexander — are released, and Israel’s security is guaranteed.”
