Grandparents and Special Visitors Day at Yeshivat Noam

Yeshivat Noam was filled with music, warmth and energy as the school welcomed over 350 grandparents and special visitors on Friday, May 8. The special guests spent time with students in Buds through second grade and enjoyed together special interactive programming and activities. The event began with coffee, breakfast, socializing and a beautiful performance by the fourth and fifth grade choir led by Adina Mermelstein. Rabbi Chaim Hagler, principal, spoke about the importance of the extended Noam family. Subsequently, Joe Baron, an eighth grader, spoke about his preparedness for high school and Helen Zelig, grandmother of three Noam students, spoke about grandparent volunteerism and philanthropy. Mrs. Zelig, of Englewood said, “We feel strongly that Jewish day schools are the foundation of the future of Judaism. Yeshivat Noam partners with the parents, grandparents and the extended community to raise the next generation of b’nei and b’not Torah. We feel as grandparents is it our responsibility to help the school in every way we can.” The positive feedback and the appreciation expressed by the grandparents and special visitors was tremendous. The day ended with a special mug presented to the guests, generously sponsored by Links Residential. As the guests departed and returned to their diverse geographic locations—Israel, California, Chicago, Florida, New York and throughout the state of New Jersey—they took with them “Noam nachat” after experiencing the day with their beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
