‘Grandparents Day’ Was a Success at Yeshivat Frisch

Yeshivat Frisch Chanukah celebrations culminated on Thursday, Dec. 6 with a chagiga and the school’s first Grandparents Day. Over 166 Frisch grandparents came to the school during the afternoon. There, they had the opportunity to learn a piece of Chanukah Torah b’chavruta with their grandchildren, experience a Frisch class, and enjoy a video presentation and medley by the Frisch choir. At the end of the day, the entire yeshiva came together with the grandparents for candle lighting.

“It was the most meaningful, wonderful event,” said Frisch grandparent Michael Mantell. “Spiritual, educational, personal, moving, in a magnificently charged community of kindness. What a school this is! We’re blessed two of our grandchildren attend and look forward to a third beginning next year iy”h.”

“We had a wonderful time and we got a very good feeling about the school,” agreed Frisch grandparent Annie Kleinhaus.

Frisch freshman Moshe Levin remarked how meaningful it was for students to learn with the very people who had worked to pass on the mesorah to them—their grandparents. “It was such a beautiful event that inspired everyone there, that the flame of am Yisrael is with every generation,” he said.

The event was planned and coordinated by Frisch Alumni Coordinator Cheryl Leiser and Director of Development Joey Small.
