Considering the many challenges that face today’s adolescents, it is vitally important that students are equipped with the tools and knowledge to help them navigate the complex world of relationships. As such, RKYHS is running an important program to prepare its students, entitled “The Life Values and Intimacy Education program,” designed by Dr. Yocheved Debow and sponsored by the AVICHAI Foundation. Dr. Debow is a noted educator who holds a doctorate from Bar Ilan University’s School of Education. Her research focused on sexuality and intimacy education in the Modern Orthodox community, for which she received a President’s Award and a Schupf Fellowship.
RKYHS is one of only four schools in the country participating in this groundbreaking program, which has provided teacher training to enable its faculty members to facilitate education in these areas. Male and female faculty members will meet with separate groups of juniors and seniors four times over the course of the school year to delve into the Torah’s perspective on self-esteem, healthy relationships, intimacy and more for this enlightening program.
