BPY is proud to hold weekly Torah gardening classes for its younger students with farmer Yosef Gillers, who runs GrowTorah. Students began picking dried marigold seeds from the flower ports that adorn BPY’s front lawn, learning in the process that the seeds were harvested by Morah Jean’s science class last year. Students learned a midrash that teaches how Noach’s wife saved seeds before the mabul to regrow all the flora on earth after the destruction. The students harvested over 60 radishes from BPY’s garden that were then donated to the Center for Food Action in one of the school’s regular efforts to give back to the greater community.
