1. Safety: The expert staff is really top-notch. Safety is *THE* primary concern and that is apparent in the posted rules and how consistently (and gently) they’re enforced. I like how plentiful the Range Safety Officers are whenever I’m there.
2. Family: I feel like I’m visiting family every time I’m there, but more importantly, I bring my kids quite often (all of mine have been coming since age 9) and everyone on the staff—from Anthony, Rich and Matt on down, so you see that it’s part of the culture—goes out of their way to give the kids a smile and make them feel very welcome. This is no mystery: My kids love going now and it’s become a treat and a reward for getting good grades.
3. Diversity: I have seen every age, color, creed and background there. Everyone there shares a major interest in common, and no one’s education, income or ethnicity matters much when the shooter next to you is firing a cool new rifle or pistol you’ve never seen before, or some exotic new DIY build with amazing optics. You strike up a conversation and maybe even try a few rounds. I see guns bring down barriers every time I’m there, and they do it beautifully. I like how GFH is a place where everyone—novice and champion competitor, hunter or professional—feels very comfortable.
4. Store: Firearms rentals or purchases, ammunition and accessories are abundant, and priced very affordably. It enhances our experience every time we go.
5. Instruction: Obviously, in light of current events, there is more interest than ever before in our community to learn how to handle firearms safely and proficiently. Here, as well, GFH shines. Their instructors are top-notch, and more than just subject-matter experts. They are talented teachers who can put the most anxious and apprehensive students at ease. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, their classes in all aspects of firearms are comprehensive and designed to position you for growth and improvement, empowering you to get better each time you train.

TL;DR: GFH is a superb experience and a terrific place to go whether alone or with kids, couples or friends. It makes no difference how little or how much you know; they want you to enjoy yourself safely and come back again and again. They do a fantastic job, and have from the very beginning.
