BPY fifth grade students had a visit with the watershed ambassador from the Hackensack Riverkeeper, Inc. Under the guidance of science specialist Morah Jean and the assistance of the ambassador, the students conducted a chemical assessment of the water and a biological assessment of the macroinvertebrates that live at the bottom of the Van Saun Mill Brook tributary of the Hackensack River, which is next to the BPY school building. Students got into wader boots and got inside the brook to retrieve water samples in order to collect the organisms.
