Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

On the last day of school before Pesach break, our daughter Nina was accidentally injured during recess. She was ushered to the office, while we were contacted and informed that she would need stitches. We spent the afternoon with her in the hospital instead of getting some valuable last-minute Pesach preparations.

Throughout the entire ordeal, the JEC faculty as well as the student/parent body were actively seeking updates, sharing medical recommendations (we asked) and asking how they could help. Nina was glad to video chat with her friends as they wished her well—it meant the world to her and to us. We received texts and phone calls from basically every level of the hierarchy at JEC. The situation was very well handled by the school, and we appreciate their efforts to put us at ease.

These papers have had no shortages of criticism toward the various Jewish day schools servicing our communities, so we felt it was only appropriate to share a positive experience. We are blessed to be a part of a school community that really feels like an extended family, and we would like to publicly express our heartfelt appreciation. Thank you.
