The community is invited to join the Jewish Community Forum of Raritan Valley online on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. Rabbi Binyamin Zimmerman will present “Halachic Challenges and Questions That Highlight Aspects of the Current War.”
Rabbi Zimmerman heads World Mizrachi’s Musmachim semicha (rabbinic ordination) program, serves as director of HESBER (Hebrew/English Source Based Educational Resources), and is senior educator at the Zomet Institute. He is the author of “The Shemitta Sensation” and the nine volumes of the “From the Source With Spirit” series of educational books for middle and high schools. He also serves as a captain in the IDF (res.) rabbinate, and has been actively serving in the reserves since the start of the war.
His background in halacha and technology, the interface of Israel, Judaism and modernity, and contemporary educational techniques for students of all ages have made him a sought-after lecturer for schools, teacher training seminars and communities throughout the world.
