Featuring Dr. Harold Tepler

On the importance of the colonoscopy:
March is colorectal cancer awareness month. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of getting screened for this deadly, yet very preventable disease.
On Israel:
Israel defines us as a nation. For 2000 years the nations of the world oppressed us. Now with the rebirth of Israel our generation is blessed as we are living in truly miraculous times.
On Parshat Ki Tisa:
The Jews sinned by worshipping a golden calf. In every generation we have calf worshipers but Hashem is always merciful and protects the Jewish nation. This week is Shabbos Parah which is very dear to me; as it’s my bar mitzvah parsha!
On Covid:
Although my kids may disagree, it was great having them all back home again!
Favorite foods:
I have very diverse taste in foods but the Italian variety usually rises to the top. I’m from Brooklyn.
Favorite actor:
Joe Pesci. He reminds me of my childhood growing up in Brooklyn.
On positive thinking:
I try to be “the glass is half full” person. Life is too short to dwell on the negative.
On Justice:
Don’t rush to judge a person until you’ve been in his/her position.
Deep idea:
“Hindsight is always 20/20”- I never understood the true meaning of that expression until I realized I stopped needing to wear eyeglasses after performing many years of
colonoscopies.
On Favorites:
Movie- My Cousin Vinny, Holiday- Pesach, TV show- Seinfeld, Entertainer- J Lo, Photographer- David Beyda
Pet Peeves:
Shul “sneezers” and inappropriate SNL monologues.
