He’Atid Boys and Girls Soccer Teams Take Home Wins

(He’Atid Sports) On Sunday, April 3, the Yeshivat He’Atid girls middle school soccer team defeated Hillel Yeshiva of Deal, New Jersey, 5-2.

“The first ever Yeshivat He’Atid girls soccer team got a great win vs. Hillel behind stellar goaltending from Eva Davis, four goals by Julie Kahane and a fifth from Regan Wolf,” said Head Coach Ari Wolf. The girls soccer team is made up of 13 girls in grades six through eight, and is also coached by Anna Margolin.

The players expressed their excitement over their success. “I love how everyone did awesome and worked together as a team,” said Ilana Cooper. Eva Davis, He’Atid’s goalie, agreed. “It was a fun game and the Hillel team played really well,” she said.

In the matinee preceding the girl’s first victory of the season, the boys soccer team won their first game of the season against Moriah in resounding fashion. The boys led from start to finish and their play was skilled on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Goalkeeping was strong which was a key factor in the victory. The team was led in goals by eighth graders Gilad Adler and Adam Lehrer. Coach Lance Friedman described the victory “as a true team effort. All members of the team were able to contribute.” Most importantly all players from both schools showed true sportsmanship.
