Throughout the year 5A and 5B have been studying about resilience, empathy and strength in the face of challenges. As a culminating project, they studied picture books about slavery in the United States and had the opportunity to write and illustrate their own historical fiction picture books about slavery. Students in 5C studied the concepts of courage, empathy and symbolism. Afterwards, each student created a symbolic artifact connected to their family and the Holocaust. Students then put on live interviews to present and explain their artifacts
It was such an honor for the students to present their work to their families and peers as an exhibition of all of their hard work. Kol hakavod!
