As the Gemara in masechet Kiddushin tells us, “mitzvah bo yoter mib’shlucho:” It is better to do a mitzvah yourself than have someone do it for you. Although Yeshivat He’Atid kindergarteners couldn’t hand deliver every Rosh Hashanah card to their grandparents, they could surely take care of the mailing themselves. Taking a short trip down Palisade Avenue to the post office allowed students to experience the process of sending a letter and feel the pride in going the extra mile for a mitzvah!
