As a culmination of learning about Native Americans, middle schoolers at Yeshivat He’Atid presented speeches to their classmates. The speakers took on the roles of Native Americans speaking to a crowd of colonists to educate them about a specific tribe. This interdisciplinary project-based learning unit combined history with skills learned in English regarding writing for a specific audience and with a specific purpose. The students worked very hard on their projects and displayed much pride in their work.
