He’Atid Asks ‘Is Your Dreidel Rigged?’

This week, first grade students at Yeshivat He’Atid conducted experiments to determine if their sample dreidels landed more often on certain letters than others. Students brainstormed a hypothesis based on the size of the dreidel and texture of the letters (raised or flat). They then tested their hypothesis by conducting various spinning experiments.

Students in Grade 4 also learned about the “science of spin” in their small group rotations. They applied this to social studies, by learning about spinning tops across centuries and cultures (including our very own dreidel).
