This week, He’Atid first graders started their math unit on measurement. The students measured items in the classroom with Twizzlers and Mike & Ike’s candies. They found that when measuring, more Mike & Ike’s than Twizzlers were needed to determine the length of the items they evaluated because of the difference in size of these measuring tools. The students learned that when measuring, the same unit of measurement is needed for the measurements to be consistent.
