He’Atid Students Learn Fire Safety With Local Heroes

Students at Yeshivat He’Atid — from toddlers through fifth grade — participated in a hands-on Fire Safety Morning, thanks to a special visit from the Teaneck Fire Department. Firefighters met with each age group to teach essential safety skills, including how to respond to a carbon monoxide alarm, the “go low” technique for escaping smoke and the importance of a designated family meeting spot in an emergency.

Early childhood students practiced “stop, drop, and roll” and had the exciting opportunity to step inside a real fire truck. Older students explored the trucks in more depth, asked thoughtful questions and watched a demonstration of the ladder mechanism, which can extend up to 100 feet.

Yeshivat He’Atid is deeply grateful to the Teaneck Fire Department for their time, dedication and ongoing partnership in bringing fire safety to life in such an engaging and memorable way.
