This past week, Heichal commemorated Yom Hazikaron with a talk from Rabbi Avi Morell, a parent at Heichal and uncle of Maoz Morell z”l, a staff sergeant in the Paratroopers Brigade who made the ultimate sacrifice in Gaza. After Rabbi Morell’s emotional and powerful remarks, the entire yeshiva learned all of Mishnayos Seder Zeraim in memory of those who have fallen defending Israel. The program culminated with a keynote address from Rabbi Menachem Penner, executive vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), followed by an Israeli-themed lunch, serving as a seuda to express gratitude to Hashem for the privilege of living in an era where Israel is in Jewish hands and continues to benefit from Divine protection.
