On Tuesday evening, September 9, Heichal HaTorah held its annual Summer Siyum. Thirty three Heichal talmidim dedicated time during their summer break to review the entire masechta they had learned during the previous school year. Nearly 300 people, including parents, grandparents and local rabbanim were in attendance to participate in this special milestone.

The keynote speaker was HaRav Yeruchim Olshin, rosh yeshiva of Beis Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, who spoke of the importance of connecting with the Torah that you learn and enjoying the sweetness of learning Torah. Rabbi Menachem Genack, CEO of the Orthodox Union and rav of Congregation Shomrei Emunah—and proud Heichal grandparent, also addressed the talmidim and guests and spoke of the accomplishment of finishing a masechta but also the beauty of starting the process again and again. The siyum was followed by joyous singing and dancing and a festive meal. It was a wonderful and inspirational way to begin the school year.
