This past week at Heichal HaTorah, Rav Daniel Schwechter, Heichal’s mashgiach ruchani, and Eli Katz, history teacher and director of College Guidance, introduced ninth grade students to an interactive eye-opening conversation about the beginning days of creation as seen from the different perspectives of Torah and modern science. The discussion included how different gedolim throughout the centuries addressed apparent conflicts between Torah and science, and the different moral lessons that can be learned from the Torah tradition on how to understand science and history. It was a thought-provoking and enlightening experience as students began their year-long journey through their world history class.
