Heichal hosted its annual Father-Son Learning program this past New Year’s Day, with over 175 fathers joining their sons and their rebbeim to spend the morning learning together. After davening, the crowd enjoyed a delicious breakfast during which Heichal Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aryeh Stechler delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the importance of a parent recognizing the unique gifts of each child, and believing that the child can achieve miraculous heights.

After breakfast, the fathers joined their sons’ daily iyun shiur, delving into sources that were prepared by their son’s rebbe in advance of the shiur. Each rebbe then gave a shiur reviewing the sources and bringing them together for an inspiring takeaway. It was heartwarming to witness the excitement and passion permeating the bais medrash and classrooms throughout the building as fathers and sons learned b’chavrusa together.

Learning and shiur was followed by an inspirational and moving kumzitz led by Rav Yosef Karduner with music by Heichal parent Binyomin Ginzberg. Mashgiach Rav Daniel Schwechter shared powerful Torah insights. It was a meaningful experience where fathers not only got to experience a typical day at Heichal, but were able to spend quality time with their sons immersed in a morning of Torah learning.
