Heichal HaTorah sophomores put their practical science knowledge to the test in the chemistry lab this week. After studying a unit on Acid-Base Reactions and Stoichiometry in the classroom, students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the process of titration and how to determine the concentration of an unknown solution using a neutralization reaction between an acid and a base. Titration techniques are widely used in industry and are crucial in state-of-the-art labs and hospitals worldwide. Following the lab exercise, students discussed the real-world applications of titration in medicine and research. The hands-on experience not only reinforced key chemistry concepts but also gave students an appreciation for the practical significance of analytical chemistry. They found the lab both educational and enjoyable.
