This past weekend, Camp ShoKo, Heichal HaTorah’s summer camp in the Catskills, had the tremendous opportunity to spend the final Shabbos of camp in a hotel in Woodridge, New York, with camp director Rav Zev Senter, as well as several rebbeim from yeshiva. The weekend commenced with a special visit from their beloved rebbe, Rav Michoel Parnes, who combined a shiur on hilchos mezuzah with words of chizuk in preparation for the month of Elul.
Shabbos began with a beautiful Kabbalah Shabbos, and dynamic divrei Torah shared during each seuda. Friday night concluded with an uplifting and powerful tisch and a grand kiddush on Shabbos day, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Catskill mountains. Shabbos culminated with a beautiful melave malke, a siyum by Heichal senior Josh Jeross on Maseches Succah, and a celebration of all the incredible learning that transpired during the summer. Camp ShoKo, also known as Shomerim Kollel, provides high school boys the opportunity to dedicate their summer to personal growth and learning, without compromising on the enjoyment of a fun and relaxing summer. The memories of this experience will remain with the Shoko campers for years to come.
