This past Sunday, over 150 prospective students from throughout New York and New Jersey were welcomed at the Heichal HaTorah open house. They were ushered in by more than 150 student ambassadors, who greeted the eighth graders upon arrival and escorted them to a lavish dinner in the yeshiva ballroom. The formal program began with welcoming remarks from Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aryeh Stechler, and Rav Dovid Goldman, menahel, and Judaic Studies principal. The energy in the room was palpable as the student candidates broke into individual chavrusa learning with current Heichal talmidim, experiencing the excitement of Heichal’s learning environment, while meeting a cross-section of the Heichal student body.
After the chavrusa learning, prospective students attended alternating sessions featuring short shiurim from over ten Heichal rebbeim. General studies teachers followed with an in-depth audio-visual presentation highlighting the robust academics program, including an interactive and thought-provoking discussion about how each course prepares Heichal’s students for successful careers in the future. Students then had the opportunity to experience various action-packed sessions covering STEM and inventions, sports, extracurricular and clubs, and much more. The event concluded with dessert and a presentation on the exciting and enriching student life program, giving the students a glimpse of the Heichal experience.
