Over 800 people were blown away by the creative, fun, educational and informative Open House for prospective parents and talmidim on Sunday night at Heichal. The audience was first addressed by Rabbi Stechler, rosh yeshiva and dean, who shared his vision for the yeshiva’s mission: Heichal HaTorah is dedicated to providing a classic yeshiva education and superior general studies program with excitement, warmth and passion for growth. In the beis medrash, parents heard from Rav Oberlander, principal of Judaic Studies, and many stellar rebbeim about how Heichal inspires each talmid to become a passionate ben Torah. Prospective parents were then paired up with current parents for a chavrusah to spend time asking questions and learning about the yeshiva. The group then heard from Rabbi Avishur, academic dean and general studies principal, who spoke about the general studies program, recognized for excellence by the Wall Street Journal. He then introduced the amazing faculty who shared mini-lessons in STEM and the humanities. Students then led through a tour of the Heichal facility. The students also shared highlights of Heichal’s student life activities, including 30 extra-curricular clubs and sport teams. The end of the program brought prospective parents, parent volunteers and ambassadors, faculty, administration and students into the ballroom for dessert and sushi. “The interest for the 55 slots in our freshmen class is extremely high,” said Rav Avi Epstein, director of admissions at Heichal HaTorah.
