Several hundred parents enjoyed an educational and informative Open House this past Sunday night for prospective Heichal parents. Heichal’s Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aryeh Stechler began the evening with the recitation of Tehillim for our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisrael. Rav Stechler then shared Heichal’s mission: to provide its talmidim with a classic yeshiva education and a superior general studies program, all infused with excitement, warmth and a passion for growth.
Rav Dovid Goldman, menahel of Judaic Studies, spoke next, emphasizing how Heichal inspires each talmid to become a passionate ben Torah and surpass his expectations. Rav Chaim Marcus, Heichal’s mashpia, and several other distinguished rebbeim outlined the yeshiva’s curriculum and high academic standards at which the boys excel.
Dr. Josh Strulowitz, General Studies principal, spoke to the parents about the general studies program and introduced several faculty members who provided information about their respective departments. Prospective parents were then paired with current parents for an informal chavrusa session, allowing them to ask questions and learn more about the yeshiva. Following this, parents participated in student-led tours of the Heichal facility, during which talmidim highlighted Heichal’s student life activities, including over 20 extra-curricular clubs and sports teams.
The evening concluded with prospective parents, parent volunteers, ambassadors, faculty, administration and students gathering for a lavish dessert. Rav Avi Epstein, director of Admissions at Heichal HaTorah, expressed excitement about the incoming class, saying he looks forward to seeing the great accomplishments they will achieve at Heichal HaTorah.
