This past Sunday night, while many watched the Philadelphia Eagles clinch their second NFL championship by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, Heichal talmidim had yet a victory of their own. Over half of Heichal’s student body spent the entire Superbowl night engaged in their own high-energy Super Seder.

The event was orchestrated by twelfth-grade talmid, Tzvi Mintz, and attended by over 110 talmidim, Rav Aryeh Stechler, Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Dovid Goldman, Heichal Menahel, and many of their rebbeim, parents and siblings. The attendees spent the evening immersed in intense rischa d’oraysa, spirited Torah learning. The atmosphere in the Heichal Beis Medrash was electric, with Rabbi Zev Senter kicking off the evening by reminding the boys of the unique opportunity to distinguish themselves, publicly demonstrating the priority of Torah learning and the immense value placed upon it.

The first two hours of serious chavrusa learning were fueled by abundant refreshments, followed by a lavish dinner from Chickies. The break featured a group viewing of Rabbi Dani Staum’s always popular and entertaining Heichal halftime show, which interspersed divrei chizzuk with humorous bits from a panoply of Heichal rebbeim.

The evening concluded with a renewed burst of energy for a second seder, culminating in spirited singing and dancing. Rabbi Pesach Skulnick, beloved Heichal rebbe, delivered an inspiring message, congratulating the boys for their focus on fulfilling ratzon Hashem. He also acknowledged the nachas felt by the rebbeim, parents, and the talmidim themselves, witnessing the boys’ enviable dedication and unwavering commitment to talmud Torah.
