This past Sunday night, while many watched the Chiefs’ nail-biting victory over the 49ers, Heichal talmidim had a win of its own. Over half of Heichal’s student body spent the entire Super Bowl night engaged in their own high energy Super Seder. The event was orchestrated by 12th-grade talmud, Azarya Gasner and attended by over 115 students, alongside rebbeim, parents and siblings. The attendees spent the evening involved in intense rischa d’oraysa, spirited Torah learning. The atmosphere in the Heichal Bais Medrash was electric, starting with Rabbi Zev Senter kicking off the evening, reminding the boys of the unique opportunity to distinguish themselves by publicly demonstrating the priority of learning Torah and the value placed upon it.

The first two hours of serious chavrusa learning were fueled by abundant refreshments, followed by a lavish dinner from Chickies. The break featured a group viewing of Rabbi Dani Staum’s always popular and entertaining Heichal halftime show, which interspersed divrei chizuk and humorous bits from a panoply of Heichal rebbeim.

The evening concluded with a renewed burst of energy for a second seder, culminating in spirited singing and dancing. Rabbi Pesach Skulnick, beloved Heichal rebbe, delivered an inspiring message, congratulating the boys for their focus on doing ratzon Hashem. He also acknowledged the nachas experienced by the rebbeim, parents and the talmidim themselves, witnessing the boys’ enviable dedication and commitment to Talmud Torah.
