This past New Year’s Day, Heichal HaTorah held its annual father-son learning program. As most fathers were off for the legal holiday, over 150 fathers came to Heichal to spend the morning with their sons. After davening and over a delicious breakfast, Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aryeh Stechler encouraged the fathers present to emulate the mitzvah of sippur yetzias Mitzrayim by sharing with their children their own personal stories of difficulty, challenge and growth. After Rav Stechler’s dvar Torah, the fathers joined their sons’ daily iyun shiur for an hour of learning, beginning with a hachana of sources prepared by their sons’ rebbeim and then a shiur bringing together the sources. It was a wonderful opportunity for the fathers to experience a typical day at Heichal, while spending meaningful time together with their sons.
