The YAF Club at Yeshiva Heichal Hatorah, a chapter of the national organization Young Americans for Freedom which promotes conservatism and individual liberties, heard from Rabbi Steven Pruzansky last month. Rabbi Pruzansky, the rav of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun, spoke to students about how the Torah and conservatism interface and addressed how some key principles of the Torah align closer with conservatism than today’s liberalism. The students left that evening learning how traditional values, personal responsibility and the ability to live free and prosper are not only fundamental, conservative values but are also cardinal Torah values.
