Dear Shayna B,
I don’t know what to do. I have a lot of fun in my sleep-away camp, but there is this one girl who always steals my food! I really don’t like it and I’m always super hungry by the end of the day. Whenever I ask her to stop she just laughs at me and walks away. What do I do????
From,
Lunchless Lucy
Dear Lunchless Lucy,
That is crazy and extremely mean. Have you ever considered eating lunch far, far away from her? If this doesn’t solve the problem, tell a counselor or better yet a head counselor. Don’t give your lunch up without a fight. Hold on to your lunch box or plate when Ms. Bully tries to take it.
If your lunch still goes missing, try to trick your lunch thief. Try packing two lunches: one really disgusting lunch and one really good lunch. Put your bad lunch in a very visible place so when she steals it she’ll steal the bad-food lunch and you’ll get to keep the good-food lunch.
The last suggestion I have can only be used after you are sure you’ve tried all the other options. Try giving her a taste of her own medicine. Steal her lunch. You won’t go hungry and she’ll get a lesson in empathy. Both of you will be better off (especially if she packs cookies).
Best of luck,
Shayna B.
